Tri the Gulf
Saturday, October 17, 2020
Volunteer Opportunities are available and greatly appreciated. Register to Volunteer by selecting the "Volunteer" option and our Volunteer Coordinator, Mark Erwin, will be in touch. Thank you!
TIME: Please be ON Dauphin Island by 6:00 a.m. Please note that the DI Bridge will close for approximately 1 hour at 6:30 a.m. to enable the triathlon's bike course to be organized. Once the cones are placed there will be limited, one-way law enforcement escorted traffic across the DI Bridge until the bike course of the triathlon concludes.
PARKING: There will be signs directing you where to park. Generally speaking - when you cross the DI Bridge and on the Island (road name becomes Lemoyne), drive approximately 3/4 mile to the deadend of the Lemoyne (at the Water Tower). Turn RIGHT onto Bienville Blvd. Proceed west on Bienvile Blvd until you get to the Dauphin Island Elementary School and the DI Park & Recreation Board facility (on the left side of the road). There will be signs to direct you. There will be persons posted to help you find a place to park. We will have 2 shuttle buses to transport triathletes and volunteers to the Isle Dauphine Club campus. The shuttle will not run while the swim and bike courses are under way. Once the last biker returns to the "transition area" - the shuttles will resume operation between the Isle Dauphine Club facility and the parking lots on Bienville Blvd.
WHAT TO WEAR: Shorts, t-shirt, comfortable shoes. Estimated ambient temperature on Saturday morning at 7:00 a.m. is 75 degrees F. The estimated high temperature on Saturday is 79 degrees F.
